Batman: The Animated Series Restamp
I'm not restamping in the traditional sense, but am restamping for a villain stamp for the fun of it, since there are so many antagonists in this series... XD

Name: Vanja

ABOUT YOU
Please describe your personality:
My personality can seem contradictory or random to others, as I can act quite differently depending on the situation and who I'm around. I'm cynical, but still have some idealism in the sense that I'm passionate about the causes I care about and still get disappointed when people seem to be going backwards. I enjoy helping friends, but I can't stand most people. I'm nihilistic objectively, but I do care about things on a more personal level. I've been called easy-going + intense, reckless + planned, among other things. Often, one part of these will appear much more prominent than the other part, but then it'll eventually swing back and the other half will appear more prominent to the same degree. In other words, these traits can appear to swing in extremes depending on who I'm around.

I can be too outspoken, argumentative, and blunt. While I can plan things out usually... well, if they're important actions, at least, I need better control over my mouth. I have a tendency to open it no matter who it is-- I've gotten into arguments with teachers, managers, etc... I do have a filter over it to an extent, but this has created problems in the past.

You could call me "self-made," for lack of a better term. Much of what I know, I had to learn on my own. I've had to dig myself out of an area that seemed to have a "Abandon hope, all ye born here... unless you're one of the few sons/daughters of factory owners!" motto, and it has severely impacted my overall mentality and perspectives.

For personality types: INTP/J-- I'm always strongly INT, but the J/P is near the middle. (I get J more, but the P descriptions normally do fit better, as I'm normally more easy-going.) 5 - "The Investigator", and most of that brief description for 5 (" Independent, innovative, and inventive, they can also become preoccupied with their thoughts and imaginary constructs. They become detached, yet high-strung and intense. They typically have problems with eccentricity, nihilism, and isolation") fits very well.. Chaotic Neutral, and while my morality is mixed and I don't believe in good and evil, I'm very far into that Chaotic spectrum. To briefly summarize all that: Often stuck in my own head. Determined. Prone towards disregarding rules. Willing to go out of the way for a close. Can be conniving and trickster-y. "Hard to get to know." Bored by routine and tradition. Adaptable. Challenges ideas. Prone towards thinking I'm right note to self: don't be such an ass.

Along those same lines, I'm a Scorpio, and I do tend to get either it (see: intensity, secrecy, and I do get jealous easily-- which is one of my least favorite traits) or Aquarius (progressive-thinking / possibly "misanthropic" when their views aren't met, can be alone despite not acting unfriendly by default, seen as strange by others, and "perverse"... well, does having a filthy sense of humor count?) +There's this popular quiz used on these, which does fit very well, particularly the part I highlighted.

Positive traits:
Analytical, independent, calm-minded (read: despite anything else, I at least think rationally), clever, open-minded, curious, "humorous"... but that can also be a negative *points below*

Negative traits:
Hopelessly self-critical, secretive (in the sense that I don't like to talk about my personal life - though I will talk about other things easily enough - and I tend to do/plan things without telling others), devious, obstinate, overly-curious, procrastinator, sarcastic/mocking/mixed with a dark sense of humor in general, rather bitter... at least if you catch me on a bad day.

Interests/Hobbies?: Video games, reading, mountain biking, hiking, and music (both playing and listening.)
Dislikes?: More than anything? Bigots, gender generalizations, people who complain but don't do anything to change whatever they're whining about, and the feeling of failure. Other dislikes include people who keep me up until 4 in the morning when I have to get up at 7, anything with the words "Hallmark" or "Lifetime" attached to it, and privileged people who think they're the most amazing people in the universe when they've never had to do anything for themselves in their lives.
How might others describe you?:
Depends a lot on who you ask. I've been called nice and helpful, but also a horrible demon, hah. Most people - at least after they know me - say something along the lines of "intelligent, snarky, and abrasive."

+ When I did Johari/Nohari windows recently the most commonly picked traits were independent, self-assertive, witty, logical, intelligent, trustworthy, cynical, chaotic, callous, blasé, overdramatic, and hostile.

*Though I was told people wanted adjectives which weren't there, like that blasé meant that I get bored easily, and overdramatic because of the self-criticalness causing me to think the world is ending if I get a C, get rejected by something, or anything else that could be interpreted as me not doing as well as I could... but there are better words that weren't options for all that.

ARE YOU MORE... (feel free to say "neither" or "both" for these questions and try to explain your answers!)
Leader or Follower?: More of a background leader. I'm too opinionated and outspoken to be a complete follower, but I prefer to advise rather than outright lead. I will take up a leader position if no one else is willing to and/or the only people who want to are incompetent, though.
Mature or Immature?: This is difficult for me to answer! I'm so used to be called "mature" as I was when I was a kid, but I feel like I'm growing more immature than mature, haha. It's almost like to make up for those years, I've become more childish. There are still times when I feel like the only mature person in the room, though.
Calm or Energetic?: Depends on the amount of coffee I've had? I normally act more energetic than I feel, though.
Optimistic, Pessimistic, Realistic, or Idealistic?: I have ideals, but I know what's realistic.
Reserved or Outgoing?: This is another "depends" case, as I can be quite chatty if something interests me and being argumentative is sometimes considered a sign of being outgoing, but I ultimately need time to myself to recharge.
Persistent or Agreeable?: Persistent, provided I care enough about something. I will let things go if they're not importable to me, but... you know those big 5 tests? I typically score 1% agreeableness on those... D: (My openness is always really high on the flip side, at least?)
Common Sense or Book Smarts?: Common sense. I trust this more than anything I can learn from something someone else wrote down. Although, I have been accused of being an intellectual before, I'm just more likely to rely on wits or do my own thing than rely on the "proper educated procedure" or anything of that nature.
Logical or Impulsive?: As said earlier, I think logically, and often my decisions reflect as much. However, I can also be quite impulsive if I simply do not care or consider something not really important enough. Put another way, I think things through if it involves anything long term, but can be reckless in my day-to-day life.
Emotional or Stoic?: I'm pretty good at keeping a calm exterior. Although underneath that...
Fun or Business?: Fun~ Really, who wants business first unless the business is fun? I will do it first because I have to, but it doesn't mean I want it.
Listener or Speaker?: Depends again? As implied above, my mouth tends to get me into trouble, but I listen to other people unless they're spouting nonsense, so...
Alone or With a Group?: Being alone is lonely obvious statement is obvious, but I do tend to do a lot of things alone... I prefer to be with a small group overall, though.
Trusting or Cynical?: Cynical.

GENERAL QUESTIONS
When it comes to dealing with challenges, you tend to...:
Attempt to beat them, but depending on what it is, not necessarily head-on. I very rarely give up if I truly want to accomplish something, however.
Would you ever hold onto an item for sentimental purposes even if you had no use for it?:
Er, sure? I wouldn't place too much emphasis on it since the actual people are more important and it's... an object, but.
What color do you associate with yourself and why?:
I don't really associate myself with any specific color, but the one I get most often tends to be red, due to it's passion, determination, and admittedly, some of it's less-anger-based negatives. Amusingly, I get green the second most, and it's nearly on the opposite end of the spectrum.
What are your views on the world?:
Hahaha. I'll try to summarize my views as quickly as possible: Not so great. And that's me attempting to word it nicely.
...How about humanity as a whole?:
Pretty much the same as the above, as the two go hand in hand. Well, maybe this is even less than the above, as at last the world has cats in it. Cats make everything better. Frankly, I find a lot of people annoying.
Which virtue do you admire most (in either yourself or others) and why?: I love it when people are willing to give new things a try, question things, or are just interested in how things work in general.

~MISC.~
Are there any characters for this theme that you DO NOT want to get stamped as? If so, list them here (you can only pick up to 2!): Catwoman. I have nothing against her and I like cats, but... I think that's about all I have in common with her and I'm not fond of that archetype in general.

Annd while he's a really minor villain so I doubt I'd get him anyway, Lock-Up? I think he's pretty much the opposite of me, lol. Obsessed with "ORDER!!1", condemning people just for being different, and screaming about the "liberal media"? Just... haha, no. Dude really needs to stop watching Fox News.
Anything else you'd like to add?:

You must VOTE on all unstamped applications before applying! Please link to them below (or you can say "Done!" if you prefer): Done~

Breyzy and Yin Girl: Breyzy: protect what is importantbreyzyyin on December 24th, 2012 02:50 am (UTC)
I'm really sorry that I'm the first one to vote on your application because I only watched a few episodes of this years ago and I don't have the best recollection of the characters, but looking over the Villains List at The World's Finest I can see some elements of Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy, and Two-Face (Harvey Dent)...but I think I'm leaning more towards Two-Face overall! Given that he has two sides to his personality (that of Harvey Dent and that of Two-Face!) that are constantly at odds, I could easily picture others describing him as contradictory or even random. It seems like his Harvey persona is a little bit more idealistic still, but that his Two-Face one is cynical. "Often, one part of these will appear much more prominent than the other part, but then it'll eventually swing back and the other half will appear more prominent to the same degree" seems to fit for how every once in awhile his Harvey persona might come to light, but how his Two-Face one kind of always comes back. I'm getting the impression that even as Harvey, Two-Face was somewhat outspoken, argumentative, and blunt given that he was a District Attorney before turning into a villain...and I'm sort of assuming that he was at least a little self-made to make it as Gotham City's number one D.A.! I get the impression that Harvey would at least fit the Type 5 Investigator type, while Two-Face fits more into the Chaotic alignment (as it even says in his bio that Two-Face feels he is meant to be "living in a world of chaos"). He also seems to be determined, adaptable, bored by routine/tradition, and someone who likes challenging ideas from what I've been able to gather about his character. I can see both the Harvey and Two-Face combination in your overall Positive/Negative Traits. Harvey seems to fit really well for the following: analytical, calm-minded, clever, open-minded, curious, and hopelessly self-critical. While Two-Face seems to fit for the following traits: independent, secretive, devious, obstinate, overly-curious, sarcastic/mocking/mixed with a dark sense of humor in general, and rather bitter on a bad day.

I could picture others describing Two-Face the same way they would describe you given his two personas: "Depends a lot on who you ask. I've been called nice and helpful, but also a horrible demon, hah. Most people - at least after they know me - say something along the lines of "intelligent, snarky, and abrasive.""...and even the Johari/Nohari traits they picked for you seem to fit for his two personalities rather well! Two-Face seems to have ideals, but know what is means to be realistic. He also seems like he's persistent and not very agreeable from what I can tell...I also get the impression he values Common Sense at least a little bit given his tendency to rely on chance rather than relying on something like educated procedure...and I get the impression he almost relies on chance because of a thrill too, so I think your responce to the fun or business question could possibly fit for Two-Face too. How you approach challanges seems to fit for Two-Face ("Attempt to beat them, but depending on what it is, not necessarily head-on. I very rarely give up if I truly want to accomplish something, however")...and I think he'd probably share the same thoughts as you do regarding humanity and the world. I also get the impression that Two-Face probably admires those who question things as well.

But, again, I could be totally off there...so I apologize if that's the case! O_O;
Breyzy and Yin Girl: Yin: this world can be harsh sometimesbreyzyyin on December 24th, 2012 04:13 am (UTC)
I'm sorry that I'm not as familiar with this series: I've seen episodes over the years, but I haven't watched the series the whole way through yet...so I'm really only familiar with certain characters and story arcs. I apologize in advance if my vote is off because of that, or if I'm overlooking another villain who might be a better fit! After reading up on the character bios again...I could see elements of The Riddler, Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy, Klarion the Witch-Boy (though I might be thinking more of his Young Justice characterization since I haven't seen his appearance in this series yet myself and The World's Finest bio for him wasn't as personality-detailed for The New Batman Adventures...so I'm not quite confident enough to vote him here), and Two-Face at times in your application.

After debating over it for awhile (especially between Two-Face and Poison Ivy, as I recently saw two episodes featuring her on this one channel which has been rerunning the series), I think I might be leaning the most towards a vote for Two-Face as well. His personality can seem contradictory or random at times to others given the duality of his personas of Harvey and Two-Face (and how one of them can be more prominent in a given instace and vice-versa). Two-Face is more outspoken, argumentative, and blunt (and Harvey most likely was as well given how he was a District Attorney), and he's rather self-made too. Harvery could most likely fit The Investigator type...and Two-Face seems to fit more for the Chaotic alignment given how he feels about where he should be meant to live. Both personas (Harvey and Two-Face) work as a combination for your positive and negative traits depending on which one might be more in control at a given point in time: hopelessly self-critical, secretive when it comes to personal things and plans, devious, obstinate, overly-curious, sarcastic/mocking/mixed with a dark sense of humor in general, rather bitter if caught on a bad day, analytical, independent, calm-minded, clever, open-minded, curious, and humorous.

How others would describe you also seems to fit really well for Two-Face given the character's duality as well. He does take up more of a leadership role when he feels others are incompetent at times from what I remember of his role in the series. Harvey has ideals, but knows what is realistic. Both personas are persistent, but aren't the most agreeable at times. Two-Face can be more chatty if something interests him, and he is slighly more argumentative at times...so I could see your response to the "reserved or outgoing" question fitting for him from that stance. He tends to rely more on common sense as well. "As said earlier, I think logically, and often my decisions reflect as much. However, I can also be quite impulsive if I simply do not care or consider something not really important enough. Put another way, I think things through if it involves anything long term, but can be reckless in my day-to-day life." seems like it could fit for both Harvey and Two-Face too if I'm remembering them correctly. He can keep a calm exterior as well at times, but underneath that...he is a lot more emotional.

Your approach to challenges definitely fits with Two-Face to me from what I remember about his character. I think Harvey could be associated with the color red for similar reasoning as well given his role in the story before becoming Two-Face: "I don't really associate myself with any specific color, but the one I get most often tends to be red, due to it's passion, determination, and admittedly, some of it's less-anger-based negatives." And I could see Two-Face sharing your thoughts on the world and humanity too. Given what I remember of the episodes I've seen featuring him, I think he would also perhaps admire those who question things as well at times. :D
